New Patients

Your First Visit

We want your first experience to be smooth, comfortable, and anything but stressful. Here is what to expect.

Before Your Appointment

Patients are seen by appointment. To schedule, call us at (512) 953-8362. We will need your insurance information at least 3 days prior so we can verify your eligibility. Please have ready:

  • Subscriber's name and date of birth
  • Insurance carrier name
  • Member ID or Social Security number
  • Subscriber's address and employer (if different)
  • Group number

When You Arrive

Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete new patient paperwork, which includes:

  • Personal information
  • Insurance subscriber information
  • Confidential medical history
  • Confidential dental history
  • HIPAA Privacy Act Acknowledgment
  • Office policies
  • Consent for electronic communication

Do not worry about tracking down previous dental records — it is generally not necessary.

Your Examination

A team member will take your vitals and any necessary X-rays. Dr. Walton will then review your history and conduct a thorough exam including extra-oral and intra-oral evaluation, TMJ assessment, oral cancer screening, periodontal probing, and examination of every tooth surface. She will walk you through her findings using X-rays and intraoral photos.

Cleaning & Treatment Planning

If you qualify for a routine cleaning, we will typically complete it during your first visit. If a deep cleaning is needed, we will schedule that separately after ensuring you fully understand your condition. At the end of your visit you will receive a written treatment plan with cost estimates, priorities, and financing options.

A note from Dr. Walton

"We know dental visits can be stressful. Please be honest with us about your fears and concerns — there is absolutely no judgment here. Our only goal is to help you get your mouth healthy and keep it that way, at a pace that works for you."
