Our Approach
As a courtesy, we accept all PPO-based plans and electronically submit claims on your behalf. We contact your carrier before your appointment to verify coverage — no surprises. When scheduling, please have ready: subscriber name and date of birth, insurance carrier, member ID, group number, and subscriber's address and employer if different from your own.
Shopping for Insurance? Here Is What to Look For.
Choose a PPO Plan
PPO plans let you choose your provider. HMO/DHMO/DMO plans restrict you to specific offices — often larger chains. While they may appear more affordable, coverage is typically no better, and you lose the freedom to choose your care.
Avoid Waiting Periods
Some plans require a waiting period of 6 months to a year before covering certain treatments. If you need a filling or crown soon, this is bad news. Look for plans with no waiting periods.
Avoid Missing Tooth Clauses
If you want to replace a tooth you have already lost, make sure your plan does not have a "missing tooth clause" — which excludes coverage for teeth extracted before your coverage began.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network
In-network means we have contracted with your insurer to offer discounted fees. We are in-network with many carriers through Connection Dental and contracted individually with others including: Aetna, Assurant, Cigna, Erisa, Humana, Guardian, MetLife PDP Plus, Sunlife, United Healthcare, and more.
Some carriers set fees so low that we cannot provide the quality of care you deserve while covering our costs — and we refuse to compromise your care based on insurance. We accept all PPO insurances regardless and process claims on your behalf.
You can call your insurance company or check their website to verify if we are in-network. Either way, we are happy to help you understand your benefits — just call us.
